Membership Types
Category 1 Membership
Membership which confers the right to vote, hold office and serve on committees. All memberships in this category require that the member possess a degree of Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathy, Bachelor of Medicine or an equivalent degree. Additionally, members in these categories must have completed a residency training program in anesthesia accredited by the American Council for Graduate Medical Education, the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association, or the equivalent of such accrediting bodies of other countries.
Active Membership Active members are persons who concurrently maintain a membership in good standing in the American Society of Anesthesiology and actively practice medicine.
Active Member Rates: $299 (one year membership)
Associate Membership Associate members are persons who do not maintain a membership in the American Society of Anesthesiology and actively practice medicine.
Associate Member Rates: $299 (one year membership)
Category 2 Membership
Membership which confers the right to serve on committees, but which do not have the right to vote or hold office.
Affiliate Membership Affiliate memberships may be granted to persons who have an interest in ambulatory anesthesia care but do not otherwise meet the requirements for category 1 membership.
Affiliate Member Rates: $299 (one year membership)
Trainee Member Trainee membership may be granted to persons who are currently training in an approved residency or fellowship in the specialty of anesthesiology. No member may be classified as a trainee member for more than a total of five (5) years.
Trainee Member Rates: Complimentary (one year membership)
Medical Student Member Medical Student membership may be granted to persons who are currently engaged in a full-time course of study leading to qualification as a Doctor of Medicine, Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine, or equivalent.
Medical Student Member Rates: Complimentary (one year membership)
International Member International memberships may be granted to persons who primarily work and live outside of the United States of America and its territories.
International Member Rates: $75 (one year membership)
Category 3 Membership
Memberships which do not confer the right to vote, hold office or serve on committees.
